BIOGRAPHY
The Matthews Johns Band is a trio of rockers that are known for blending modernistic chord changes, anthem-like choruses and catchy hooks that show their lyrical storytelling. With riff heavy rock grooves and head snapping drums, these guys are exciting, inviting and have a warm familiarity. Consisting of Detroit native Matthew Johns (guitar and vocals), Steve Camilleri (drums) Buffalo native and former drummer for The Dickey Betts Band, who holds down the foundation with Jessie Stephens (bass) making this trio a force to be reckoned with.
No strangers to the music industry, MJB has appeared as direct support for several national acts, including One Republic, Goo Goo Dolls, Foghat, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and The J. Geils Band. At the Sundance Music Festival, ABC compared Matt's raspy vocals to Springsteen and called them epitome of rock.
The Matthew Johns Band recently produced their new album, “The Storm” with producer Spencer Bradham and chief engineer Mike Johnson at Clear Track Studios. The album is filled with arena rock anthems, it's all here. With soulful, lyrically driven songs like “Light” and ”Falling to Pieces” then changing it up with heavy rock driven songs “Drive”, “Somewhere”, and “All Eyes on You”.
